Why CLDP: "I chose KU CLDP because of the opportunities for interdisciplinary learning and research. As a speech-language pathologist, I have been trained in a highly specialized field that focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of speech and language disorders. However, in the CLDP we get the opportunity to learn theories on language acquisition from many different angles such as linguistics and genetics. Moreover, we get the opportunity to complete research of our interests amidst learning and applying the interdisciplinary methodologies of researchers and scholars. These opportunities have given me the skills to think critically and become well-rounded as a researcher, scholar, and clinician."
